Launched in 2023, the dedicated digital business platform is operated by IMI in partnership with CNN International Commercial (CNNIC). Leveraging the digital knowledge within the IMI group and combining this with the brand recognition and newsgathering capabilities of CNN, CNN Business Arabic aims to become the most comprehensive, coherent, trusted, timely, and creative global source of Arabic-language business and economic news.

Delivering breaking business news, insightful podcasts, and exclusive interviews with business leaders and influencers, the digital-first platform aims to inspire and empower current and future Arab business leaders and entrepreneurs in their daily quest for financial success, through engaging, visual, data-driven content.

Role Summary:

The Reporter is responsible for researching, writing, and delivering high-quality business and economic news content across multiple platforms. The role involves covering breaking news, producing in-depth analysis, conducting interviews with industry leaders, and participating in events and panel discussions. The Reporter will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and clarity while maintaining the highest editorial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Writing

• Research and write news articles on business and economic developments.
• Produce in-depth feature stories and analysis pieces on market trends.

Interviews and Reporting

• Conduct interviews with business leaders, economists, and industry experts.
• Prepare well-researched questions and background materials for interviews.
• Follow up on breaking news stories with timely and accurate updates.
• Attend press conferences, earnings calls, and industry events.

Panel Discussions and Events

• Participate in moderate panel discussions on economic topics.
• Prepare discussion topics and manage the flow of conversations.
• Engage with audience questions and provide expert commentary.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth event execution.

Coverage and Field Work

• Cover major economic events, conferences, and corporate announcements.
• Travel for assignments, including breaking news coverage when required.
• Coordinate with camera crews and technical staff during field reporting.

Role Requirement:

• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English.
• Solid understanding of financial markets and economic principles.
• Comfortable with on-camera appearances and public speaking.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and digital content creation.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in fast-paced environments.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and journalistic integrity.
• 1–3 years of experience in business journalism or economic reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
