GENERAL SUMMARY:
Sells, merchandises, and displays products in J.J. Taylor portfolio to assigned off-premise accounts in order to meet company objectives for volume and distribution. Provides direction regarding selling, displays execution and ordering of customers with assigned Sales Assistants. Encourages and influences customers to use P.O.S. thematic display items.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Reviews daily route in order to prepare for daily off-premise sale objectives.
- Travels through assigned territory to call on regular off-premise customers, which could include liquor stores, drug stores, convenience, gas, neighborhood stores and supermarkets etc., to solicit orders and sell new points of distribution.
- Maintains product knowledge and pricing. Communicates on-going promotions, and any other programs that the company is promoting. Communicates promotions to customers and quotes invoice amount prior to delivery if required.
- Provides day to day direction for sales assistants’ daily sale call frequency to include selling, merchandising, display building, order taking and transmission of customer orders.
- Ensures that all orders, and orders of their sales assitant are transmitted on time using the company provided handheld unit.
- Presents and sells new products to customers and sells in weekly/monthly ad information to obtain displays.
- Takes inventory of current stock in order to determine future reorder needs. Reviews any customer auto replenishment system to ensure proper inventory for accurate orders.
- Maintains proper rotation of current stock to ensure product freshness organizes product in back rooms of assigned accounts and checks brand positioning and shelf tags in coolers to ensure cooler integrity. Maintains cooler integrity by reviewing planograms in contect locker.
- Persuades accounts to use P.O.S. display items to promote sale of company products.
- Stocks vehicle with appropriate mix of P.O.S. for all J. J. Taylor products so needed merchandise will be available for display at accounts.
- Completes requests for signage and puts up signs and other P.O.S. if necessary, in accounts.
- Consults with managers at off-premise accounts in order to acquire additional cooler space for J.J. Taylor products including cooler resets where allowed.
- Attends scheduled sales meetings.
- Confers with Sales Director/Manager to resolve customer problems or to discuss competitive activity.
- Completes weekly and monthly objective recaps, incentive tracking, and MBO’s.
- Communicates with route drivers and sales assistants daily in order to resolve internal and external customer needs, discuss service calls and display locations/execution.
- Responsible for successful completion of Brew U Training modules.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:- Delivers special orders of J.J Taylor products to accounts when needed.
- Attends sales rallys for supplier partners when needed.
- Assists with cooler resets when needed.
- Works holidays as needed to meet retail customer expectations.
- Adheres to national account check in procedures.

- Must use own means of transportation (i.e. vehicle) to get from account to account in order to service customer accounts/venues.
- Must be able to regularly unload product (case of beer), which averages to 30 lbs., but can weigh up to a maximum of 49 lbs. from delivery vehicle and transport into customer accounts.
- Requires ability to move easily around account premises in order to inventory current stock levels and display P.O.S.
- Able to rotate product in coolers, on shelves and in stock room.
- Able to build and create product displays which may contain several hundred cases of product.
- Able to maneuver a two-wheel dolly effectively.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years previous sales experience.
- Valid Class D driver’s license required.
Working Conditions:- Regular exposure to extreme non-weather related temperatures.
- Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions.
