Responsible for compiling and disseminating a variety of research-based projects for the College by applying the use of statistical analysis and data interpretation. Perform technical, interpretive statistical and data analysis to be used for effective institutional planning and decision making. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Collect, compile, and analyze research data. Use statistical methods and relational databases to analyze data sets. Conduct independent research and evaluate projects involving data collection from students, local agencies, and organizations. Conduct focus groups and select appropriate audiences for survey participation. Respond to internal and external inquiries from College administrators, staff, and other institutions such as Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reporting.
Assist with planning, developing, and coordinating research projects. Assist with developing, writing, and analyzing non-statistical and statistical data. Interpret results of statistical analysis. Assist with generating or editing technical reports and summary findings. Verify accuracy and consistency of data prior to dissemination.
Communicate research results to relevant parties within the college to facilitate decision making and support Institutional Effectiveness processes such as program review. Exercise continuous improvement and provide budget recommendations, and strategic planning using narrative tables and graphs.
Assist in designing and creating computer programs for research applications. Work with appropriate software and learn to use institutional software systems. Collect, compile and analyze information from surveys, Banner student integrated system, and other sources (e.g. assessment results).
Assist clients to discuss survey goals. Assist in designing survey instruments and prepare questions for survey. Create and administer course evaluations and other surveys and generate reports.
Assist the survey research function for the Office of Institutional Research. Assist college departments in maintaining and developing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and confirming up to date information.
Perform presentations, train end-users on use of software tools related to data research. May also train end-users on the operation and data management of research equipment. Comply with and keep current with the College's policies and procedures. Maintain knowledge of current trends, events, and emerging issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees. All academic coursework and degrees must be from an accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).
Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.
Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.
Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.
