Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $56,118.40 - $62,951.20

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This Continuous Improvement Analyst (Research Analyst IV) position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Bureau of Performance Management. This position is responsible for supporting continuous improvement efforts and application of process improvement tools as an internal service to KDOT divisions, bureaus and offices. The CI Analyst will build strong partnerships across all levels to apply continuous-improvement methodologies, plan and execute projects, and implement thoughtful process changes and best practices that boost organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This role will work closely with a variety of specialized CI and data-analytics tool to design, test, implement, and sustain process improvements. Reporting to the CI Bureau Chief, this position will support agency-wide initiatives under the CI team’s direction, including developing and maintaining regular performance-measurement reports and collaborating with teams across the agency to advance their strategic management plans.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and support process-improvement projects from intake through planning, execution, and close-out.
  • Coordinate and execute tasks that translate bureau strategies into actionable steps, advancing strategic business plans, and supporting division and agency objectives.
  • Develop and maintain reporting of performance measures data across the agency through traditional reporting and visualization of transportation performance measures utilizing data communication.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of experience in planning, organizing, streamlining operations, improving organizational efficiency, or team communication and coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical thinking applied to problem solving and effective communication via writing and presentations.
