Position Name:- Research and Development Manager

Industry Specification:- Insecticides or Pesticides Aerosols

Location:- Africa

Key Responsibilities & Accountability:

• Formulation Development: 1. Lead the R&D team in developing and optimizing aerosol insecticide products from concept to launch. 2. Improve and optimize existing recipes, processes, and formulations to enhance product quality, shelf-life, and cost efficiency. 3. Perform physical stability tests (leak, pressure, corrosion, flammability, etc.). 4. Oversee documentation of formulations, processes, and technical reports.
• Project Management: 1. Develop and manage project plans for multiple R&D initiatives, ensuring timely completion and delivery of new products. 2. Coordinate with internal teams, including production, quality control, and marketing, to align R&D activities with overall business objectives.
• Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance: 1. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies during product development. 2. Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to stay informed about and compliant with industry regulations. 3. Diagnose and resolve production challenges involving formulation or packaging processes.Research and Market Analysis: 1. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in confectionery industry. 2. Conduct research on market trends, consumer insights, and competitor products to guide innovation, and to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation. 3. Create technical data sheets, material safety data sheets, MSDS and full product profiles in proper file.
• Testing and Evaluation: 1. Manage product testing, trials, and sensory evaluations. 2. Conduct knockdown and residual effectiveness tests on target pests (e.g., mosquitoes, cockroaches). 3. Test compatibility of active ingredients, solvents, and propellants to ensure product stability and performance. 4. Oversee the testing and evaluation of confectionery products, gathering data on product performance, stability, and consumer acceptability. 5. Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth product implementation.
• Budget Management: 1. Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective development processes.
• Intellectual Property Management: 1. Work with legal and intellectual property teams to protect and manage intellectual property associated with new formulations and innovations.
• Team Leadership: 1. Lead, mentor, and develop the R&D team to build a strong innovative culture, encouraging the team to explore creative solutions
