Research and Development Chemist

Job Summary

A prominent manufacturing plant in the Jessup, MD area is seeking an R&D Chemist. The Chemist will conduct research and development toward new product development of technical foams. The position will include hands on lab work, data analysis, project management, and reporting to Sr Management. This is a high-priority search, salaried in the $80K+ range!

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the mechanical and technical aspects of polyurethane foam chemistry and manufacturing to support R&D activities
• Interfacing with multiple departments to understand project goals and performance requirements
• Researching scientific literature in support of R&D activities
• Conduct wet chemical laboratory experiments in support of R&D and production activities
• Maintain records of data generated from internal and external testing
• Coordinating with customer and vendors for outside analytical testing
