About Company & Role Purpose
The role holder is responsible for developing and improving food and beverage products through scientific research and applied experimentation, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards while supporting the company's competitive position in the market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Product Development
· Develop and formulate new products based on market needs.
· Improve existing products in terms of quality, taste, nutritional value, and cost.
· Conduct laboratory experiments and pilot production trials.
· Prepare technical feasibility studies for new products.
Research & Analysis
· Monitor the latest trends and technologies in the food and beverage industry.
· Evaluate and select suitable raw materials based on quality and cost.
· Assess alternative raw materials when required to ensure production continuity.
· Analyze test results and provide technical recommendations.
Quality and Food Safety
· Ensure products comply with quality and food safety standards.
· Coordinate with the Quality Department to implement food safety systems.
· Document testing and analysis results according to approved procedures.
Technical Support
· Provide technical support to Production during new product launches.
· Train production teams on manufacturing processes for new products.
· Resolve technical product-related issues and improve processes.
BACKGROUND, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
· Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in research and development within the food and beverage industry.
· Strong knowledge of food ingredients, formulation techniques, and processing technologies.
· Experience with pilot plant trials and scale-up to industrial production.
· Understanding of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO, GMP, FSSC 22000).
· Experience in conducting technical feasibility studies and cost analysis.
Skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in experimentation and documentation.
· Creativity and innovation in developing new products and improving existing ones.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
· Proficiency in MS Office and technical reporting.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Knowledge of food regulations and labeling requirements is a plus.
· Project management skills are an advantage.
