Research Area Specialist-Associate (Transplant Center)

Job Description


Under general supervision, responsible for the operation of a specialized educational/social science research area within a recognized unit. Assists with research project tasks to include recruitment, data collection, and the day to day operations of research projects.


    Responsibilities

  • Assists in conducting research projects according to the research plan/project.
  • Performs duties in support of research project such as scheduling research subjects, obtaining research data, organizing data, researching records and entering data in a research database.
  • Assist in conducting literature reviews and maintains information.
  • Performs chart reviews of medical records to assess patient eligibility to participate in research studies.
  • Assists in the maintenance of information and literature, and keeps current on literature and developments in the areas of research.
  • Assists Transplant faculty in IRB submissions.
  • Trains and guides other lower level research support personnel in research administrative tasks and general clinical/transplant concepts.
  • Assists with biorepository blood and tissue collections.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree degree in an educational/social science is required.


Required Skills
Up to one (1) year related experience is required.
