As a research assistant supporting Gallup's director of user research, you'll coordinate studies, conduct secondary research, manage data and documentation, share insights, and collaborate with the C-suite and department heads across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Support active research projects from start to finish, including gathering background materials and preparing study assets
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews and meetings, manage recordings and consent, and ensure logistics run smoothly
  • Take structured notes, capture timestamps and quotes, and trim recordings for review
  • Conduct secondary research on markets, competitors and user segments
  • Produce short, factual briefs with citations
  • Present concise takeaways in leadership reviews
  • Organize files, transcripts and research materials and store them securely
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and follow privacy standards without exception
  • Assist in documenting and improving processes for consistency across studies

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a research-intensive field; a strong academic record at a selective university or honors program is a plus
  • Experience supporting projects through scheduling, coordinating, note-taking or data preparation required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and Google Workspace (Google Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slides) required
  • Fluency with modern AI, research and productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM, Notion and Figma required
  • Availability to travel up to 10% required
  • Strong writing, synthesis and note-taking skills required
  • Basic data analysis skills using Excel spreadsheets required
  • Video editing experience required
  • Experience organizing video and transcription files preferred
  • Experience supporting user interviews, surveys or competitive research preferred
  • A commitment to working on-site at Gallup's San Francisco office at least three days a week required
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. required; this position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship

We also offer an estimated annual salary range of $85,000-$95,000 for this role. Salaries are based on a variety of factors, including an individual's education, experience and skills.
