Research Assistant

Location: South San Francisco, CA – Onsite Required

Contract: 7 months | Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Rate: $26.76/hr

Job Summary:

The Analytical Operations (AO) department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Research Associate to join our analytical testing team. This role supports process development and validation by using analytical tools to characterize the physical and chemical properties of biopharmaceutical products, ensuring quality, purity, and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using U/HPLC, icIEF, CE-SDS, LC-MS, and other physiochemical techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assays and results in an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN), following ALCOA+ principles.
• Handle lab support tasks such as stocking consumables, checking reagent expiration, managing hazardous waste, and de-icing freezers.
• Comply with lab best practices, safety guidelines, and internal/regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with lab experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC, CE, or LC-MS required.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical work clearly.
• Preferred: Knowledge of GMP compliance, experience with ELN, and intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. for laboratory tasks.
• Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
