Job Description

The research assistant (part-time) will serve as a member of the Epigenomics and Computational Biology Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology, VA-MD College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. The research assistant will work with a team of scientists and researchers on cutting‐edge research at the intersection of neuroscience and biomedical informatics to address significant biological questions. The initial appointment for this part-time position will be one-year with performance-based and funding-based extension.

Required Qualifications

A B.S. degree in computer science or neuroscience is preferred; current undergraduate students majoring in computer science or neuroscience will also be considered.

Demonstrated proficiency in relevant programming languages and software environments.

Demonstrated experience in single-cell RNA-seq data analysis.

Demonstrated experience in neuroscience research.
