Position Summary
The Research Technician position will organize laboratory samples and work with other core facilities, transferring receiving animals, coordinating behavioral analysis, and independently handling animal protocols that are required for UNC IACUC approval. Laboratory procedures performed will include: 1) animal handling; 2) mouse brain preparation, perfusion, and sectioning; 3) histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC); 4) protein/western analysis; 5) DNA analysis, cloning and genotyping animals.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Management Preferences
The preferred candidate will have experience in some aspects of molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology related to human disease. Particular experience in animal handling, mouse brain preparation, perfusion, sectioning, histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC), protein/western analysis, or DNA analysis, cloning, or genotyping animals is also preferred.
