The Ubicomp lab (
https://ubicomp.cs.mu.edu) of Computer Science Department is dedicated to innovation and development in digital health technologies, systems and applications. In addition, it promotes Data science that lets it delve into the different multidisciplinary research problems and come up with the data-driven solutions using advanced data science techniques such as Deep Learning, Machine Learning Algorithms, Natural Language Processing, etc. The Ubicomp lab is looking for a key role on the research team to participate in big data analytics in health sciences with a focus on non invasive computing. This involves working with large datasets from various sources, collaborate with researchers to develop predictive models to aid in detection diagnosis and management of patients with diseases. Position Requirements: The candidate should have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or a related quantitative field. The following qualifications are not required, but highly valued: (a) strong background and training in statistical theory and methodology; (b) proficiency/experience in C/C++ or Python; © excellent oral and written communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Research: Contributing to ongoing research, publishing in top journals and conferences, and developing algorithms
- Technical leadership: Providing technical leadership in artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Grant proposals: Assisting with writing research grant proposals
- Scientific papers: Drafting scientific papers and technical documents
- Research findings: Presenting research findings
- External funding: Aiding in the formulation of proposals for external funding
- Training: Contributing to training of undergraduate and Master’s level graduate researchers
- * Records: Maintaining accurate, organized, and complete records of research
- Communication: Effectively communicating results
- Course materials: Helping in preparing course materials of data science
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree. Must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary.
