Overview
Supports research at the Yale University PET Center by carrying out research assignments for multiple projects. Performs independent research relating to publications and grant applications. Assists with new project development for PET Center Investigators, including preparation of study protocols and associated materials. Assists with data analysis for research projects. Provides support in screening and recruiting subjects for studies, scheduling procedures, collecting specific data according to research protocols, escorting subjects to study locations when needed, delivering specimens to the local lab and completing data entry. Provide occasional (1x per month) after-hours (5-8pm) coverage for late study procedures.


Principal Responsibilities:
Conducts independent literature research supporting publication efforts. Writes and edits materials for publication and presentation. Assists with grant preparation. Develops protocol and consent documents. Completes regulatory submissions (IRB/MRRC/Radiation Safety). Identifies and recruits study participants for multiple research studies and ensures that subject recruitment and follow-up are completed per protocol procedures. Schedules and coordinates research activities. Orders and maintains an inventory of supplies. Prepares source documents for new studies. Records and compiles information related to research data. Completes electronic data entry and generates reports. Reports on the status of research activities to the research team and academic or industry collaborators. Assist with preparation of annual reports required by regulatory agencies. May prepare financial information and monitor budgets. Perform additional functions incidental to research activities.

Required Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to multi-task.
2. Proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
3. Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills.
4. Expertise in use of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. At least one year of experience in clinical research. Specifically, biomedical imaging experience (e.g. PET/MR).
2. Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
3. Familiarity with local and federal regulatory agencies.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Recommends the design and implementation of procedures and protocols under the direction of a higher-level authority. 2. Investigates, analyzes, and reaches preliminary scientific conclusions related to research planning 3. Ensures data results are compiled, analyzed, and presented properly. 4. Analyzes, develops and interprets scientific results. Maintains clear documentation of results. Prepares scientific reports and papers for research proposals and published reports. 5. Performs independent research and laboratory techniques and participates in experimental research planning. 6. Interacts with internal contacts including the PI, research assistants, graduate students, Radiation Safety and Biological Safety officers, and Animal Care personnel to discuss and evaluate research results and to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the laboratory. 7. Interacts with external contacts such as researchers at other institutions, staff at biotechnology and reagents companies to consult on research methods and to keep abreast of product information and developments. 8. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline and one year experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
