Research Associate

Job Summary

This position will contribute to SESRI’s ongoing survey research activities, supporting the Institute’s mission to advance social and economic knowledge through high-quality empirical research.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the development, design, and implementation of national surveys in Qatar and comparative studies across the GCC region.

• Conduct data analysis and interpret survey results.

• Present survey findings at local and international conferences, as well as to public and private sector audiences.

• Co-author papers, articles, and research reports based on SESRI’s survey findings.

• Teach seminars in collaboration with SESRI staff and faculty.

• Collaborate on developing new research projects and preparing grant proposals.

• Engage actively in the intellectual and academic life of the Institute and the University.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education and Certifications

  • A recent doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant social science discipline or a closely related field.

  Languages

  • Excellent command of English and/or Arabic, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in both languages is an advantage.

  Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more of the following priority research areas:

    • Marriage and family studies

    • Gender studies

    • Social demography

    • Immigration and migration

    • Survey methodology

  • Proven experience in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing survey data.
