Position Overview The Research Associate -Project Coordinator will play a central role in coordinating the operational, scientific, administrative, and strategic activities of the Mutaba'ah Study. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator, investigators, collaborating institutions, students, and stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of project objectives and the long-term sustainability of the study. This position requires an individual with excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills who can effectively manage multiple workstreams within a large, multidisciplinary research program. The Research Associate - Project Coordinator will contribute to the continued growth of the study by supporting scientific productivity, research collaborations, grant development, project governance, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination and Management • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Mutaba'ah Study. • Monitor project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and performance indicators. • Develop and maintain project management systems and reporting structures. • Ensure timely completion of project activities and compliance with study protocols. • Identify operational challenges and develop solutions to support project delivery. • Support strategic planning and implementation of study objectives. Research Administration and Governance • Coordinate ethics applications, amendments, renewals, and regulatory submissions. • Maintain project documentation, standard operating procedures, and governance records. • Support compliance with institutional, ethical, legal, and data governance requirements. • Assist in the development and implementation of study policies and procedures. • Coordinate agreements, collaborations, and data-sharing arrangements with partner institutions. Scientific Productivity and Research Support • Monitor and support research projects arising from the study database. • Track publications, conference presentations, student projects, and other scientific outputs. • Support manuscript development, internal review processes, and publication planning. • Assist investigators with project development and research coordination. • Facilitate communication between researchers, clinicians, statisticians, and data scientists. Stakeholder and Collaboration Management • Serve as a key liaison between the study team, hospitals, collaborators, funding agencies, and other stakeholders. • Coordinate meetings, workshops, advisory committees, and collaborative activities. • Support national and international research partnerships. • Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for stakeholders and senior leadership. Grants and Resource Development • Assist in identifying funding opportunities. • Support preparation and submission of grant applications and progress reports. • Contribute to resource planning, budgeting, and project sustainability initiatives. • Monitor funded project deliverables and reporting requirements. Student and Team Support • Coordinate activities involving graduate students, research assistants, postdoctoral fellows, and collaborators. • Support onboarding, training, and mentoring activities. • Facilitate communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Minimum Qualification
Master's degree in: • Research Management • Health Administration • Clinical Research • Health Services Research • Public Health • Epidemiology • Or a closely related discipline. • Demonstrated experience managing research, healthcare, or public health projects. • Strong understanding of research governance and administrative processes. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
Preferred Qualification
- PhD or equivalent research experience in a health-related discipline. • Experience managing large-scale cohort studies, clinical research programs, or public health initiatives. • Experience working in academic or healthcare institutions. • Experience with grant administration and research funding applications. • Experience supporting scientific publications and research collaborations. • Knowledge of research ethics and regulatory processes.
