Introduction:

The Department of Medicine at The Aga Khan University Hospital, comprises of independent sections of Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, and Pulmonary & Critical Care. The Department has over 70+ full-time Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency Programmes are offered in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Adult Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Medicine, Nephrology and Dermatology, as well as Fellowship Programmes in Clinical Neurophysiology & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Interventional Cardiology and Infectious Diseases.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Associate, Department of Medicine.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of recruitment and data collection activities.
• run the after-hospital care plan including:
  • tele-consultation for discharge follow-up
  • communication with clinical teams
  • documentation in patient software
  • data collection on outcome indicators
• maintain data quality control, conduct data management and analysis.
• active participation in project meetings.
• assist in preparing manuscripts and abstracts for publication and presentation.
• participate in collaborative data-related efforts within the Department of Medicine.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

• BSc Nursing from a recognized institution.
• registration with Pakistan Nursing Council.
• certification in Basic Life Support, Safe Medication Administration, IV Cannulation (preferred).
• 2–3 years of professional clinical experience in the relevant specialty.
• prior experience in research projects (within or outside AKU) preferred.
• familiarity with MS Office and statistical tools (SPSS) preferred.
• strong communication and documentation skills.
• ability to work in a team and collaborate across departments.
• knowledge of literature research tools (PubMed, EndNote).
• critical thinking, active listening, and clinical competencies.
• experience in patient care management and education.
• ability to conduct and coordinate training sessions and develop care plans.
