The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Associate in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

You will be required to:

  • obtain informed consent and manage participant recruitment
  • conduct regular audits of KMC practices and UTI data quality
  • maintain secure records, including daily KMC coverage tracking and standardized data entry
  • support Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles for continuous improvement
  • present monthly KMC coverage data and compile UTI resistance trends
  • retrieve datasets, perform statistical analysis, and prepare reports
  • coordinate meetings, share findings, and support faculty in reviewing progress
  • build capacity by training nursing staff and junior researchers in data collection, audit methods, and evidence-based practices
  • assist in ongoing projects at the Karimabad campus during the contract period (e.g., referral data, DBS-NBS study, neonatal sepsis, interprofessional communication skills).

Requirements:

You should have:

  • a Bachelor’s degree (medical background will be preferred)
  • 0–1 year of experience in a reputable healthcare setting
  • proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)
  • good academic writing and basic analytical skills
  • ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings
  • strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • resilience and ability to work under pressure
  • willingness to work in community-based settings
