Research Associate (Statistician), Paediatrics & Child Health - (2500032Q)

Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to analyse and interpret data from research projects; prepare descriptive tables; check data for inaccuracies; data cleaning and management and report results of statistical analyses. Specific responsibilities will be to:

  • provide statistical and analytical support to the research team
  • coordinate with the project teams and independently manage all complex statistical aspects of research
  • projects.
  • analyze and evaluate statistical results, prepare derived datasets for the analysis using statistical
  • packages like Stata, R and python
  • provide Expertise in data management, data mining and prepare statistical reports with interpretation
    for manuscript publications.
  • collaborate with funding agencies such as WHO and BMGF on analysis of multi-site studies
  • prepare statistical contribution to Integrated Study Report;
  • develop project analysis plan, including computer-generated table specifications, statistical analysis
  • plan, and research report format;
  • use statistical techniques and models to forecast results, trends and needs;
  • prepare project summaries for weekly/monthly status meetings;
  • prepare any other official assignments given by the supervisor(s)
  • analyse and interpret data from research projects and prepare descriptive tables;
  • check data for inaccuracies, Data Cleaning & Management;
  • report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables;Requirements.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • minimum 1-2 years of experience;
  • experience in the field of Research & public health will be an added advantage
  • 4 years graduation or Masters in Statistics
  • excellent Command on SPSS/Stata and other Statistical Packages;
  • proficient in Spread sheets and power point presentation;
  • sound knowledge of Databases and programming;
  • strong verbal and written communication skills.
