Assist with collection, processing, storage and analysis of field data on wildlife populations in response to Hurricane Helene. Employee will help in completion of multi-million dollar grant funded project to understand wildlife responses in North Carolina, with extensive travel time and on-campus responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
40% - Non-Essential - Conduct field research to assist in data collection on wildlife species, working both independently and as a team. Employee will have to spend portions of the year traveling to field sites collecting measurements on plants and animals. The employee will also be responsible to data backup and organizing logistics associated with research projects in a field setting.
40% - Essential - Organize, analyze and store resulting field data, assisting researchers and students. Employee will need to be familiar with advanced statistical and mapping software to help run analyses. This includes helping students determine how to analyze data as well and conducting analyses with minimal supervision.
20% - Essential - Report on resulting field data. Advanced scientific writing skills will be required, along with the ability to interact with and report to federal agencies sponsoring research projects.
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Biology, chemistry, wildlife management or related technical area and experience in fish, wildlife or marine resource management or research programs. A master's degree in biology, chemistry or wildlife management may be substituted for the required work experience.

Standard Hours: 37.5
Anticipated Salary Range: $45,300 - $50,000
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
