Job Description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Coordinator 1.

About this Opportunity:

Under the general supervision of the Research Manager and Principal Investigator, the Research Coordinator supports the successful execution of clinical and translational research within the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) program. This position exists to ensure that complex research studies are conducted in full compliance with institutional, federal, and sponsor requirements, and that study participants receive safe, quality research care.

The Research Coordinator plays a key operational role in the unit by coordinating day to day study activities, and making sure that study timelines and deliverables are met. This position contributes to the development, refinement, and implementation of research protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Study Coordination, Participant Support, and Data Management — 50%

  • Assist with implementing study protocols under the direction of senior research staff and investigators.
  • Prepare, organize, and submit study documents for regulatory review as instructed, including initial IRB submissions, modifications, and continuing reviews.
  • Support participant coordination, including scheduling study visits, preparing visit materials, assisting with the consent process, and maintaining accurate study files.
  • Enter study data into electronic databases and assist with routine data quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain communication with participants and clinical teams to support visit coordination, follow up, and timely completion of study procedures.
  • Track study timelines, visit windows, required documentation, and study supplies to ensure smooth day to day operations.

Other Duties — 50%

  • Prepare copies of study materials, organize regulatory binders, and maintain study records in accordance with institutional and sponsor requirements.
  • Provide routine support to senior coordinators, research assistants, and students on study related tasks and document preparation.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, organizing study supplies, and maintaining shared resources.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field and one year of relevant experience.

Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Manager.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with specimen handling such as stool and familiarity with clinical research systems such as CTMS, OnCore, and EPIC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Prior experience working with patients on in customer relations

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$55,944.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$66,000.00 annual
