Introduction
The Department of Medicine at The Aga Khan University Hospital, comprises of independent sections of Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, and Pulmonary & Critical Care. The department has over 70+ full-time Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency Programmes are offered in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Adult Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Medicine, Nephrology and Dermatology, as well as Fellowship Programmes in Clinical Neurophysiology & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Interventional Cardiology and Infectious Diseases.

The Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Research Coordinator (Sonologist), Department of Medicine.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal Investigator/Faculty, you will be responsible for:

conducting sonographic examinations at designated field sites in Karachi (Bhains Colony, Malir) and Matiari District (Hala)

ensuring clear diagnostic-quality images and making necessary adjustments to sonographic equipment

monitoring and caring for patients to ensure safety and comfort during procedures

reviewing images to identify abnormalities and determining if further imaging is required
-
maintaining accurate documentation, patient histories, and medical records
-
preparing and sterilizing ultrasound equipment in accordance with safety protocols
-
maintaining and cleaning sonographic equipment
-
collaborating with research coordinators, field teams, and investigators to ensure protocol compliance
-
addressing operational challenges faced by field personnel and study participants
-
preparing and submitting periodic reports on ultrasound activities, imaging progress, and field operations
-
ensuring adherence to study protocols and data quality standards.
