Job Description and Duties

Analyze the critical business functions and the needs of the Dispute Resolution Units to provide timely solutions and reports using the division's data system. Analyze databases and use database management tools to process and review student-level data and/or local-level data to answer questions posed by internal and external shareholders. Maintain and manage the divisions data system in collaboration with division staff. Process data and provide various data reports. Create statistical trend/correlated reports to various monitoring and qualitative assurance process. Act as the lead trainer and primary technical support to Dispute Resolution Unit staff.

Designs, plans, and implements research and statistical projects; collaboratively assist in the planning, organization, and the development of multiple measures used to evaluate individual local educational agencies on a complex array of compliance issues and results, related issues using appropriate research methodologies. Work in collaboration with other staff members to analyze performance and compliance data in relation to federal and state special education laws, rules, and regulations. Respond to Public Records Act requests and other approved data requests.

Identify reliable sources of national, state, and local-level data related to federal and state special education law; compliance trends; local educational agency provision of services; and analyze multiple sources of data using sophisticated statistical techniques.

Perform varied technical and analytical tasks related to the processing of complaints, the analysis of completed investigations, and corrective actions.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary range(s) shown on this job posting does not reflect the salary reduction.
