Research Intern – PhD (AI, Data Science and Digital Systems)

We are seeking a PhD-level Research Intern to join our expanding research team.

The ideal candidate will bring both academic depth and practical curiosity to explore diverse data-driven domains, including (but not limited to):

• Big Data and Large-Scale Systems
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Applications
• Optimization and Decision Systems
• E-Commerce and Digital Business Analytics
• Mobility, Transportation, and Smart Cities
• Social Media, Human Dynamics, and Behavioral Data

The successful candidate will contribute to Fabrikod’s ongoing and future research projects, targeting publication in SCI/SSCI indexed journals with measurable scholarly impact.

The selected researcher will work under the close academic supervision of Dr. Abdullah Önden (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, Istanbul University) and collaborate directly with Fabrikod’s multidisciplinary R&D team.

This collaboration offers a rare opportunity to conduct applied, high-impact research at the intersection of academia and industry.

• Conduct original research in collaboration with Fabrikod’s senior researchers and partners.
• Perform in-depth data analysis, develop research methodologies, and design experiments.
• Prepare and co-author high-quality journal papers suitable for Q1/Q2 publications.
• Present findings in academic and industry forums.
• Participate in grant proposal preparation and interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  

• PhD degree (or ongoing PhD candidacy) in Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines .
• Strong analytical and quantitative background in one or more of the following areas: AI, big data, optimization, mobility analytics, or computational social science.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools and programming languages (Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, etc.).
• Strong academic writing and literature review skills.
• Prior publication experience in SCI/SSCI-indexed journals is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
