Job Description

The Research Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating program management activities by performing tasks related to data tracking, analysis, and implementation of results that meet the goals/objectives of the department.

Overview

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

Responsibilities

The Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • Support administration/coordination of one or more research programs or projects related to own scientific area of specialization.
  • Provide inputs to research program plans based on understanding of scientific area and overall research methodology.
  • Identify and communicate research resource requirements and risks based on specific scientific context.
  • Define program or project requirements, identify interdependencies with internal or external departments or service providers, and coordinate to receive their inputs.
  • Develop and deliver communications regarding the research program or project; Develop project plans and/or programmatic processes.
  • Develop and track metrics, support data analysis & interpretation, and develop program-related reports.
  • Make recommendations for program or process improvements by providing inputs for systemic changes to program or project management processes for better planning, scope management, and risk prevention.
  • Support the design and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Assist with processing Material Transfer Agreements, Institutional Review Board Protocols, and other Contracts.
  • Engage with program management teams internally and vendors externally for coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Substantial breadth of expertise across multiple scientific/research disciplines/areas.
  • Deep knowledge of one specific sub-functional area within the research portfolio.
  • Shows awareness of current market and industry trends.
  • Has experience working with international healthcare sites, including scheduling meetings across multiple time zones and being sensitive to various cultural norms.
  • Deploys considerable initiative and judgment deriving creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Interacts effectively with other administrative groups within Global Pediatric Medicine and elsewhere in St. Jude to achieve objectives.

Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.

Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum Requirement: 4+ years in program management and delivery required.
  • Significant experience working with project planning tools.
  • Prior experience and expertise in scientific discipline (e.g., assay development, translational research) including application of research methodologies and protocols, as well as overall research lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting/coordinating research programs preferred.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Research Program Coordinator - Global Pediatric Medicine.
