Qualifications:
PhD with 2+ years’ experience
OR MS with 5+ years of experience, preferably in Chemical industry
Key Responsibilities:
Literature search and evaluation Plan safe, scaleable and commercially viable synthetic routes for the preparation of fragrance and flavor compounds New process development Cost reduction in existing commercial processes Impurity Synthesis and characterization Trouble shooting regarding commercial non-conformance batches Progress report preparation and presentation Document review regarding process development and validation SOPs/ guidelines preparation, review and training Facilitate internal audits Maintain safety standards & lab discipline Team development Maintain & upgrade R&D infrastructure
Experience In
Experience of handling the complete management of synthetic organic chemistry projects. Responsible for literature search and designing the synthetic route and schemes of the organic compounds of interest. Synthesis, purification and structural elucidation of organic compound in milligram to kilogram scale Ability of improvement in product manufacturing process for efficient optimization and cost reduction in commercial product from R&D scale to pilot plant. Ability to handle product safely on chemical process & the ability to estimate and remove the risk for pilot plant production. Responsible for managing other research chemist in order to achieve the objective goal as well as leadership in the function and ability to work together with other relevant section. Experience of process development, validation, commercialization, process safety data interpretation and troubleshooting of the upstream and downstream process Calibration, operation and maintenance of variety of laboratory equipment as specified by the requirements of the research study. Excellent understanding of organic chemistry fundamentals including stereochemistry, and reaction mechanisms Familiarity with Gas Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, H & C NMR, IR and UV-vis spectroscopy Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) software or knowledge of DoE is preferred Experience with reaction kinetics/mechanistic investigation is a plus
