Our client Transparency International Pakistan is looking for a Researcher - Disability Inclusion and Accessibility in Karachi

Transparency International Pakistan is seeking a diligent Short-Term Researcher to contribute to its mission of combating corruption and promoting transparency across the country. The successful candidate will engage in comprehensive research focused on disability inclusion and accessibility within national and provincial frameworks. This role involves reviewing legislative materials, designing research methodologies, conducting field assessments, and facilitating stakeholder engagement to ensure an in-depth understanding of the barriers faced by disabled individuals in accessing public services. The researcher plays a vital part in supporting the preparation of detailed reports and will collaborate closely with the broader TI Pakistan team to ensure findings effectively inform advocacy and intervention strategies. The position demands a proactive individual with a strong academic background and proven experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Qualification required : Master’s degree in Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field

Responsibilities

BACKGROUND

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organization leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business, and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

Transparency International Pakistan is one of the accredited National Chapter of Transparency International, based in Karachi. By working across Pakistan, we give voice to the victims and witnesses of corruption and work with the government and citizens to stop abuse of power and strive for a corruption free Pakistan.

OBJECTIVES

The Short-term Researcher will specifically help with the research areas as outlined below:

  • Review relevant national and provincial laws, policies, and guidelines related to disability inclusion and accessibility.
  • Identify and propose a list of public service facilities across selected sectors for assessment.
  • Design methodology and conduct field work to assess accessibility inclusion using structured methodological approach.
  • Conduct in-depth stakeholders’ interviews and focus group discussions to understand challenges and existing practices related to disability inclusion
  • Compile and analyze information to draft a report and liaison with TI Pakistan team during the process of compiling the research report.
  • Assist in organizing Stakeholders’ Workshop in Karachi (tentative) to disseminate findings of the report.
