Job Title: Residential Energy Technician – Entry Level

Company: Diversified Energy – Greater New Orleans, LA

Pay: Starting at $18/hour with a clear path to $22/hour in about 6–9 months for reliable, high‑performing team members, and $25+/hour as responsibilities grow.

Job Type: Full‑time

About Diversified Energy

Diversified Energy is a leading home performance and insulation contractor serving the Greater New Orleans area. We install insulation, perform weatherization, duct sealing and cleaning, AC tune‑ups, and home energy upgrades that make homes more comfortable and lower utility bills.

What this job is really like

This role is hot, dirty, and physically demanding. You will:

· Work in attics, crawlspaces, and tight areas for extended periods.

· Work in high heat and humidity, especially in summer.

· Handle insulation, dust, and construction debris.

This is not a “hang out for a few weeks” job. We invest real time and money into training, and we’re looking for people who show up, learn, and treat it as a serious opportunity.

Schedule

· Start each day at our office/warehouse at 8:00 a.m. to meet your crew and load up.

· Most workdays run roughly 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at customers’ homes.

· Actual end times can be slightly earlier or later depending on jobs and traffic, so you need reasonable flexibility. This is not a strict “clock‑out at 4:00 p.m. every day” position.

Key responsibilities

You will be trained to:

· Protect customers’ homes (floors, furniture, doorways) and leave work areas cleaner than you found them.

· Perform whole‑house air sealing using caulk and foam, weatherstrip doors, and install attic tents.

· Seal and improve duct systems with mastic and foam and assist with simple duct modifications.

· Remove old insulation from attics and crawlspaces and install new insulation (cellulose, fiberglass, mineral wool, spray foam, radiant barriers).

· Assist with AC tune‑ups, coil cleaning, and duct cleaning.

Once you master these core tasks, you become eligible for more responsibility and higher pay based on performance and reliability.

The 3 non‑negotiables

We can train skills. We can’t train this:

· On time, every time. You show up when and where you’re supposed to, ready to work. Chronic lateness or no‑shows end employment quickly.

· Follow instructions. You listen to your Crew Leader, follow procedures, and do things the right way, even when it’s tougher or slower.

· Respect in customers’ homes. You treat every home like someone’s family castle—clean, polite, and professional at all times.

If you bring those three, you can do well here.

What we’re looking for

No prior trade experience required. What matters is your attitude.

You are:

· Reliable and on time every day.

· Coachable and able to take feedback.

· Respectful in customers’ homes.

· Steady under pressure on long, hot days.

· Honest and protective of customer and company property.

Military experience, construction, warehouse, or other physical work backgrounds are a plus. Military‑experienced applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Minimum requirements

· Valid driver’s license.

· Ability to pass a background and MVR check (issues reviewed case‑by‑case; integrity is non‑negotiable).

· Ability to lift, climb ladders, and work safely in hot, confined spaces.

· Ability to work full‑time, Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.

Pay, benefits, and growth

· Starting wage: $18/hour.

· Clear path to $22/hour in about 6–9 months for motivated, reliable team members who master core tasks.

· Opportunity to reach $25+/hour as skills and responsibilities increase.

· 401(k) with 2% employer contribution plus additional match.

· Company pays up to 50% of employee health insurance premiums at management‑level employment.

· Paid training and structured onboarding so you know exactly what’s expected at each stage.

· 4‑week trial period for both you and the company to confirm it’s a good long‑term fit.

· Company‑provided shirts and minor equipment (if you leave within the first 4 weeks, the cost of these items must be reimbursed).

· Optional extra income: Opportunities to earn bonuses or finder’s fees by helping bring in new clients or projects (details shared during the application and training process).

Expectations and commitment

This is honest, demanding work with high rewards for people who want to build a future, not just collect a short‑term paycheck. Employees work away from the main office, so following company rules and instructions is required at all times.

If you disrespect company property, ignore instructions, or act unprofessionally in customers’ homes, your employment will end immediately.

How to apply

If this sounds like the challenge you’ve been looking for—and you’re ready to prove yourself—apply through Indeed today. Qualified candidates will receive a call and an emailed application to be completed and returned within 2 days.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
