We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors and will play a vital role in ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position involves working closely with residents to assist with daily activities while fostering a warm and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to the nursing staff.
• Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Support residents with mobility needs, including transferring them safely from one location to another.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by following health and safety protocols.
• Document care provided and report any concerns regarding residents’ health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
• Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.

Skills

• Experience in assisted living, retirement home, or long-term care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical procedures is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with seniors and their families.
• Understanding of dementia care principles is a plus.
• Ability to drive or transport residents as needed for appointments or outings is advantageous.
• A background in social work or home care can enhance the effectiveness of this role.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents and staff members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50 - $21.50 per hour
