Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Monitor vital signs regularly, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to track residents’ health status.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition and hydration tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Support residents with dementia or memory care needs by implementing specialized care plans and engaging in therapeutic activities that promote cognitive function.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans that enhance residents’ quality of life.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
- Certification or training in first aid is required; additional certifications such as CPR are advantageous.
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, or memory care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of long-term care practices and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is beneficial.
- Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to foster positive relationships with residents and team members.
