Job Summary

The Residential Counselor / Success Coach is responsible for supporting the emotional, social, academic, and behavioural development of students living in the residential school. The role focuses on mentoring students, promoting mental well-being, guiding academic success, building life skills, and ensuring a safe, positive living environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Counseling & MentorshipProvide individual and group counseling for emotional, social, and behavioural concerns.Support students dealing with stress, anxiety, homesickness, adjustment challenges.Encourage healthy coping strategies and positive self-esteem.

2. Academic Support & CoachingMonitor academic progress and identify students needing support.Teach study skills, time management, goal setting, and motivation techniques.Coordinate with teachers/mentors to support struggling students.

3. Behaviour & Life Skills DevelopmentPromote discipline, responsibility, and positive behaviour in hostel environments.Conduct life skills sessions on communication, conflict resolution, leadership, etc.Mediate peer conflicts and encourage respect, teamwork, and empathy.

4. Residential Hostel SupervisionMaintain a safe, nurturing residential environment.Monitor hostel routines, student behaviour, hygiene, and interpersonal relations.Build rapport with students and provide emotional support outside classrooms.

5. Parent Liaison & ReportingCommunicate with parents regarding students’ well-being, progress, and concerns.Maintain confidential records and provide regular updates to management.

6. Well-Being & Wellness ProgramsOrganise awareness programs on:Mental healthBullying preventionNutrition & personal hygieneSocial media safetyConduct group discussions, workshops, and awareness campaigns.

7. Crisis InterventionRespond to emotional emergencies, conflicts, and behavioural incidents.Provide first-line psychological support and escalate when necessary

.8. Collaboration with School StaffWork with teachers, wardens, and administrators to support student needs.Participate in pastoral care teams, house meetings, and duty rosters.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Education, or related fields.Certification in counselling, child psychology, or life coaching preferred.Experience1–3 years of experience with adolescents in schools, boarding, or youth programs.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of adolescent psychology and development.Excellent counselling, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle sensitive issues with empathy and discretion.Classroom facilitation and workshop leadership skills.Conflict management and problem-solving abilities.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
