Resident Electrical Engineer (RE – Electrical)

Requirements

- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

- Proven experience in EPC project supervision (substations, grid connections, power plants, BESS, etc.).

- Strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards, TAQA specifications, and testing & commissioning processes.

Role Summary

The Resident Electrical Engineer is responsible for on-site supervision of all electrical works executed by the EPC Contractor. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, international standards (IEC/IEEE), TAQA requirements, and safety regulations throughout construction, testing, and commissioning. The RE–Electrical acts as the technical authority on site, coordinating with the Contractor, Client, and Consultant teams to ensure quality delivery and safe execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and inspect electrical installations: equipment, cabling, earthing, protection & control, testing, and commissioning.

- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, QA/QC procedures, and HSE requirements.

- Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals, ITPs, and technical documentation.

- Manage technical interfaces between EPC Contractor, TAQA, and Consultant teams.

- Witness and verify testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning activities.

- Maintain accurate site records: inspections, NCRs, punch lists, progress reports.

- Prepare daily/weekly reports and support progress verification, invoicing, and variation assessments.
