Job Purpose:
The Resident Engineer (RE) will be responsible for the on-site supervision and management of the construction of a large dam project in Oman. The RE will ensure that all construction activities are executed in accordance with the approved designs, specifications, and contractual obligations, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities related to the dam project.

Ensure compliance with design specifications, technical standards, and contractual requirements.

Monitor construction progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.

Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to resolve technical and construction issues.

Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals.

Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.

Manage and oversee site engineers, inspectors, and other technical staff.

Prepare and submit progress reports, non-conformance reports, and other documentation.

Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Participate in project meetings and provide expert technical advice.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s preferred).

At least 15 years of overall experience in supervision of dam works

Proven experience in managing large dam projects

Strong knowledge of dam engineering principles, hydrology, geotechnical engineering, and construction methodologies.

Familiarity with international standards (e.g., ICOLD, ASTM, BS, ISO).

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in project management tools and construction software.
Preferred Certifications:

PMP or equivalent project management certification.

Membership in a recognized engineering body (e.g., ICE, ASCE).
Working Conditions:

Site-based role with extended periods in remote locations.

May require working in challenging environmental and climatic conditions.
