We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee construction activities and ensure that all works executed by the Contractor comply with contract documents, authority regulations, and site requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality outcomes with strong financial efficiency, within project timelines, and aligned with client objectives.

This role requires a proactive leader capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining full coordination across multidisciplinary teams. The Resident Engineer will guide project teams, manage stakeholders, and ensure adherence to quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and ensure adequate staffing and execution of all construction supervision activities in coordination with the Construction Supervision HOD.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular reports, ensuring compliance with client expectations regarding time, cost, and quality.
  • Ensure proper administration of construction contracts by the supervision team.
  • Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring all site activities comply with safety procedures and industry regulations.
  • Manage and review project documentation, including progress reports, non-conformities, corrective actions, logs, and plans.
  • Maintain and control project documentation such as drawings, specifications, change orders, and back-charge records.
  • Provide technical guidance on scope, schedules, procedures, and on-site construction challenges.
  • Lead design reviews at early project stages, identifying issues related to constructability, coordination, and material selection.
  • Chair and participate in progress meetings with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and project teams to resolve project issues.
  • Monitor and manage design changes during construction, ensuring proper approvals are obtained.
  • Review and manage construction contracts to safeguard the rights and obligations of all stakeholders.
  • Ensure implementation of company Quality Management Systems (QMS), policies, and procedures across the team.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and applicable construction codes and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering (Master’s degree or PMP certification preferred).
  • Certified Engineer with GCC engineering membership.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a Resident Engineer role.
  • Strong knowledge of local construction laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with international and regional construction codes and standards.
  • Proven experience in commercial and contract management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
