Residential Designer

A Kight Home Center (a division of Carter Lumber) Residential Designer will work with our customers and sales team to create new and modify existing home plans. This fast-paced job will entail experience with drafting based software. Come be a vital piece of our growing company as we continue to make our customer's dream homes a reality.

Requirements:

• Must be well versed in current construction methods and framing assemblies
• Thorough understanding of current residential building codes and residential energy codes
• Software-based drafting experience
• Ability to compile complete drawings for residential home permit submittal
• Well versed in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, Outlook); Computer-savvy
• Exceptional customer service skills; Strong communication skills
• Well organized and enjoys multitasking
• Residential construction experience and/or sales experience is preferred
• Building experience a bonus - not a necessity

Responsibilities:

• Work with sales team and customers to draft new and modify existing home plans to fit a customer's needs
• Assist in modifying multiple sets of plans at any given time
• Working with the Company’s POS system for quoting and billing plans/materials
