About the Role

As an Estimator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our homes are built efficiently, accurately, and within budget. You’ll analyze project plans, specifications, and costs to help guide strategic decisions throughout the building process. Working closely with our design, purchasing, and construction teams, you’ll ensure every estimate reflects our dedication to precision and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, impact fees, permits, and other project-related expenses.
• Review architectural and engineering plans to identify scope, materials, and cost implications.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain unit pricing and cost databases for accurate forecasting and consistency.
• Collaborate with project managers and designers to refine scopes of work and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare purchase orders for subcontractors and vendors based on approved scopes and estimates.
• Monitor project budgets and assist with cost tracking throughout the construction process.
• Analyze historical data and market trends to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
• Support value engineering efforts and contribute to continuous improvement in cost management.
• Participate in project meetings to provide insights on cost implications and potential value engineering opportunities.
• Liaise with clients during the estimation process, addressing any cost-related questions or concerns.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of estimating experience in residential construction or homebuilding.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building materials.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel (experience with Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or similar platforms is a plus).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
