Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately identify issues and determine appropriate repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance and extend system lifespan.
• Install new HVAC systems following manufacturer specifications and safety standards while coordinating with property owners or managers.
• Utilize specialized tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and refrigerant recovery machines to complete repairs efficiently.
• Conduct property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems, including plumbing connections and appliance repairs when necessary.
• Maintain detailed service records, including inspection reports, repair logs, and parts used for each job.

Requirements

• 2+ years proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related fields such as construction, plumbing, refrigeration, or mechanical maintenance.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles.
• Type II EPA Certification or Universal EPA
• Hands-on experience with equipment repair involving refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, air conditioning units, and appliances.
• Familiarity with field service procedures for property maintenance and appliance troubleshooting.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and perform welding or basic mechanical repairs confidently.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), ammonia refrigeration systems, and electrical components is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
