Position Summary
The Residential Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting residential environmental inspections for clients enrolled in the Home and Community-based Services (HCS) program. This role ensures that all client living environments meet state regulatory standards for health, safety, and sanitation. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quarterly residential environmental inspections for HCS clients
- Perform initial inspections for newly enrolled clients
- Complete follow-up visits for homes that are out of compliance
- Document findings and report any deficiencies in accordance with agency and state requirements
- Communicate concerns and collaborate with case managers and interdisciplinary team members
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
- Assess and document the overall condition of the home environment, including: Proper placement and functioning of smoke detectors (in bedrooms and common areas) o Presence and condition of fire extinguishers (fully charged and accessible) o Water temperature compliance (must not exceed 120°F) o Availability of food in pantry/refrigerator o Cleanliness and sanitation of the home o Absence of strong odors, pests, or excessive clutter o Verification that pets have current vaccinations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience as former direct care staff, housing inspectors, case aides / community workers, QA / compliance assistants, or property inspection roles (apartments, housing programs) is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred
- Knowledge of HCS program standards and state regulations is a plus
- Strong observational, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Work Environment

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
