Position Overview:
The Resort Facilities Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the seamless operation of all physical aspects of our Forbes-rated luxury property. This includes preventative maintenance, timely repair, and ensuring all facilities meet the highest standards of safety, aesthetics, and functionality. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, service-oriented, and committed to supporting an exceptional guest experience through proactive maintenance and meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs across all resort facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, spa, pool, kitchens, and back-of-house areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest service calls and engineering-related guest issues, ensuring quick resolution with minimal disruption.
- Work closely with housekeeping, front office, and food & beverage departments to support operational needs and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Participate in the resort’s preventive maintenance program, documenting tasks and ensuring compliance with Forbes and internal quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems function efficiently and safely.
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean and serviceable condition.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Support sustainability and energy conservation initiatives, including monitoring utility systems and recommending improvements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering workspaces and mechanical rooms.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality/resort engineering or general building maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, and life-safety systems.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills; professionalism in guest-facing situations is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, sitting and standing for extended periods.
