Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) – Contract

Location: California, 95490
Contract Dates: April 27, 2026 – July 26, 2026 (13 weeks)
Pay: $1,914 – $2,149/week

Schedule:

• Day shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (3x12s, variable schedule)

• No call required

• Every other weekend coverage

• Float required between Ukiah and Howard

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

• Provide basic and critical respiratory care across ED, ICU, and med-surg/tele units

• Manage ventilated patients and ensure ventilator/VAP bundle compliance

• Administer oxygen, aerosol therapy, and obtain ABGs per protocol

• Perform pulmonary function testing and assist with bronchoscopy/special procedures

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment

• Document all patient care, therapies, and charges in Cerner

• Educate patients, families, and clinical staff on respiratory care

Requirements:

• Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required

• Minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience required

• BLS required

• ACLS required

• NRP required

• Critical care and OB experience preferred

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferred

Additional Details:

• Facility size: 25 beds (4 ICU, remainder med-surg/tele)

• Staffing: 1 RT per shift

• EMR: Cerner | Medication system: Omnicell

• Communication: SBAR

• Scrubs: Any color (no RTO preferred)

• Hospitalist coverage 24/7; intensivist via telehealth
