Job Description
Ensures efficient use of resources and labor by reviewing scheduling and staffing needs. Acts as a liaison between staff and department leadership, communicating important issues to leadership promptly. Maintains good working relationships with all customers and communicates effectively with other healthcare team members. Serves as a role model by demonstrating leadership, communication, initiative, personal and professional growth, poise, and self-control. Acts as a resource person and assists with clinical duties when needed, maintaining all required clinical competencies. Practices and enforces standard precautions and safety regulations according to hospital policies. Attends new leader orientation and ongoing management/leadership classes. Adheres to, and ensures staff adherence to, the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Monitors staff activities in the clinical setting to ensure services are provided according to department and facility policies and procedures. Demonstrates professional standards and ethics, showing regard for the dignity, confidentiality, and respect of all patients, family members, visitors, and hospital personnel. Participates in and proactively initiates performance improvement activities. Completes performance appraisals on time, counsels staff, and initiates progressive discipline as needed. Other duties as assigned.
