Respiratory Therapist

South Shore Rehabilitation and Nursing, a premier long term skilled nursing facility located in Nassau County, New York, has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic and talented Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic professional team. The successful candidate should possess a passion for the geriatric population with a desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their recuperative experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience with ventilators
• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state with practicing BLS certification.
• Experience is a long term care setting.
