Utilize assessment findings in a timely manner to establish patient and family needs in collaboration with the health care team. Communicate findings in both verbal and written format. Seek personal/ professional development, assure safe operation of the life support equipment and perform other duties as required. Take a leadership role as assigned, act as a clinical resource to other departments. May precept staff after displaying proficiency. Provided primary respiratory care to patients from admission through discharge, and charts appropriately.

Serves as a resource and provides education to students, interns, residents, nurses, and new employees as needed.

Assures safe, cost-effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes appropriate infection control techniques in all areas.
