Respiratory Therapist

Full Time | Day | 8am-4pm

(based on experience and shift differential)

What will I do as a Respiratory Therapist for The Wesley Community?

• Assess Residents' respiratory status, including breath sounds, oxygen saturation, and work of breathing.
• Administer respiratory therapies such as:
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Aerosolized medications (nebulizers, inhalers)
  • Tracheostomy care and suctioning
  • CPAP/BiPAP therapy
• Monitor and document residents' responses to respiratory treatments.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and changes in resident conditions.
• Make appropriate reports to the Unit Coordinator, Charge Nurse or Supervisor as required or necessary.
• Attend unit meetings

Respiratory Therapist Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Must have current NYS licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT as required by state regulations).
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred, if applicable).
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric care preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
