Partners In Home Care is looking for a reliable and dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide respiratory care services to patients in multiple settings. The RT assesses, educates, and manages patients requiring respiratory therapy, oxygen therapy, sleep therapy, and other pulmonary treatments. This position works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to improve patient outcomes while supporting Partners In Home Care's mission of delivering exceptional care.


Department: HME

Schedule: 0.6FTE (24hrs/week)

Location: Based out of our Missoula, MT office. Some travel is required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Evaluates physician orders and implements respiratory therapy treatments in accordance with evidence-based practices.
  • Initiates, monitors, and manages:
    • Oxygen therapy
    • CPAP/BiPAP therapy
    • Pulse oximetry and respiratory monitoring
  • Educates patients and caregivers regarding:
    • Disease processes
    • Medication administration
    • Equipment, operation and maintenance
    • Infection prevention
    • Safety practices
    • Emergency procedures
  • Performs equipment setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and patient instruction.
  • Evaluates patient response to treatment and recommends modifications as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with physicians regarding patient progress and changes in condition.
  • Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Maintains compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrates infection prevention and equipment cleaning protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Sleep therapy support
  • Respiratory equipment assessments
  • Respiratory emergency response

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
  • Current Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation with proof of insurance.
  • Ability to meet Partners In Home Care driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
  • Home Health, Hospice, or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience preferred.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
  • Knowledge of Medicare respiratory documentation requirements.
