Respiratory Therapist (RT)- FT. Worth & Southlake

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of the Respiratory Therapist position is to participate in and oversee the care of Residents with tracheostomy/stoma as prescribed by the attending physician, consistent with accepted standards of care and within the scope of RT training and licensure.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School and a current and valid license in the applicable State
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a long-term or health care setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of current trach care treatments and dressings
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language

Essential Functions:

  • Observes, assesses, and treats Residents with trachs according to community polices, Federal, State, and local regulations
  • Documents assessment and all related treatments in the medical record
  • Consults with Director of Nurses/Attending Physician regarding changes in Residents tracheostomy care and condition
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Identifies and secures equipment and supplies for trach care, changing tubing and all replaceable equipment on a weekly basis
  • Ensures a safe environment for Resident population
  • Has reviewed Cantex Senior Communities Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it
  • Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
