Role Summary:
Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Respiratory Therapist and play a vital role in delivering life-saving care to patients in a variety of clinical settings. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will not only deliver critical support to patients but also engage in the development and training of future healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care in the respiratory therapy field.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients as prescribed, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
Perform both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and General Practice Units (GPU), demonstrating a high level of clinical expertise.
Maintain and update patient records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental standards.
Communicate effectively with patients, family members, co-workers, physicians, and other medical staff regarding patient care, fostering an environment of collaboration and trust.
Supervise and guide Respiratory Therapists, respiratory interns, externs, and students, offering mentorship and support to ensure a high standard of care.
Accurately complete all necessary patient billing information in accordance with the guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Stay current with the latest trends, best practices, and clinical advancements in respiratory therapy, contributing to department improvement initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
Education: Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
Certifications:
Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Current Michigan State Respiratory Therapist License.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Desired Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred but not required).
Experience: Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Trauma Level 2 facilities is a plus.
Certifications: Additional advanced certifications in respiratory therapy are a plus but not required.
Location and Work Type:
Schdule - 3- 12 hour shifts Nights 7p-7:30a
On-site position based in Michigan.
This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension.
