JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Health Careers department is seeking a positive, supportive, and dynamic Respiratory Therapy Instructor to teach a diverse community of learners. Preference will be given to candidates who are committed to student success, a commitment to equity, inclusion, and the use of the classroom experience to enhance workplace understanding and performance.

Teach with excellence a full range of respiratory coursework in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings. Participate collaboratively in curriculum review and development, outcomes assessment, advisory council activities, projects, and other department or College activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related discipline required.
• 2 years of FT related occupational/current clinical experience to include general respiratory care and critical care.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Current Nebraska Respiratory Therapy license
• Must comply with recommended immunizations and drug testing for clinical participation.
• Higher Education / Community College teaching experience preferred.

• 232-day, 12-month contract
• Location: South Omaha Campus
• May include day, evening and/or weekend classes and may involve travel to other campuses.
• A teaching demonstration is required as part of the interview process.
• Hiring process includes passing a background check.
• The position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval.
