Restaurant Hostess

1. Job Summary

The Hostess at TANG Hospitality plays a crucial role in cultivating a positive and inviting image of the restaurant, is responsible for welcoming guests to the restaurant, managing reservations, and coordinating seating to ensure a positive dining experience. This role involves greeting guests, guiding them to their tables, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in alignment with TANG Hospitality's standards of hospitality. Additionally, the Hostess may be required to assist as a Reservations Agent, when needed.

2. Essential Job Tasks

· Greet and welcome guests, as they arrive at the restaurant.

· Manage reservations and seating arrangements using the restaurant's reservation system. Ensure that all reservations are accurately recorded, and tables are prepared for guests.

· Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus.

· Ensure accurate seating arrangements to accommodate reservations and walk-in guests.

· Monitor dining areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to seating arrangements.

· Answer incoming calls and assist guests with inquiries about reservations and restaurant information thorough different communication channels.

· Assist in coordinating with service staff, bartenders, and kitchen personnel to ensure timely service, and any specific reservations requests are accommodated.

· Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while handling guest interactions and inquiries.

· Monitor and manage the waiting list during busy periods to ensure guest satisfaction are met all the time.

· Assist with the planning and coordination of restaurant events and private parties, ensuring all details are executed smoothly.

· Ensure all company devices are handled with care, kept secure, and maintained in optimal working condition.

· Ensure the hostess area, entrance, and dining area are always clean and well-presented. Arrange and replenish promotional materials as needed.

· Ensure that an adequate stock of all necessary stationary items is consistently available.

· Ensure that all menus are clean and in good condition. Maintain an adequate stock of menus and request additional supplies as needed.

· Assist as a Reservations Agent when needed, handling guest inquiries, creating reservations, and managing modifications and cancellations.

· Assist in other tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the restaurant, assign by direct supervisor or manager.

3. Job Context

The Hostess works in a fast-paced hospitality environment, interacting with guests, service staff, and management regularly. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and fast-moving environment, as long the ability to manage guest flow effectively. The Hostess plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression and ensuring a smooth dining experience for guests at TANG Hospitality.

4. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Knowledge: Understanding of restaurant operations, familiarity with professional reservation systems, knowledge of guest’s service principles.

· Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, ability to multitask.

· Abilities: Ability to work under pressure, maintain a positive and welcoming demeanor; to handle physical tasks for long hours, wearing a high heel (standing, walking), to accommodate and respond to varying guest needs; to use basic computer software and hardware; to communicate effectively in written and verbal manner.

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
