Restaurant Host/Hostess

Sea Watch on the Ocean is a landmark oceanfront restaurant serving Fort Lauderdale for over 50 years. As a high-volume, family-owned restaurant, we are known for fresh seafood, warm hospitality, and stunning Atlantic views.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, dependable Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on guest interaction, and takes pride in creating a strong first impression.

Position Overview

The Host/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for our guests. This role is responsible for managing the flow of the dining room, maintaining organized seating rotation, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive.

Professionalism, composure, and strong communication are essential in this role.

What You’ll Do

• Greet every guest promptly with warmth, eye contact, and professionalism
• Manage reservations and seating assignments using a floor chart and rotation system
• Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate accurate wait times during peak hours
• Answer phones and assist guests with reservations and general inquiries
• Escort guests to tables and ensure they are seated comfortably
• Communicate clearly with managers and service staff to maintain smooth table flow
• Monitor the lobby and entrance area to maintain cleanliness and organization
• Assist with light support duties as needed during high-volume periods

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (4 to 12 hours)
• Ability to work in a high-traffic, fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance required
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak season shifts
• Flexible schedule required based on business needs

Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.

Additional Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to complete employment eligibility verification (I-9 documentation)
